Here's a quick article from about an eccentric man and his garden. Skimpy on the gardening, but we share some thoughts:

People who cultivate unusual gardens seem able to cultivate other unusual behavior, like "coaxing enchantment" from the prosaic world. You and Whimsey both have a refreshing take on the sublime.
