Quick Garden Update

The last time I worked in the Bayside garden was a week ago (I’m still at Big Lagoon). I noticed that some of the Penstemon heterophyllus cuttings have rooted. The lily seeds have not germinated yet (and neither have the Clintonia andrewsiana seeds). Triteleia laxa has sent up leaves, as have the daffodils and tulips in the herb garden, but the Lilium pardilinum has not. A bunch of Lupinus polyphyllus volunteers have popped up in the herb garden. I’ll move them to the Coastal Prairie when they’re a bit larger.

Your landscape and vegetation is pretty different from mine... interesting to read about what is going on in the Bayside garden at this time of year.

I think maybe some Tritleia laxa foliage is coming up for me too, and possibly some Brodeaia elegans.

Definitely no Lilium pardilinum. I don't expect to see it in my garden until the soil warms back up to 60 deg F or so. Same with Epipactis.

What I'm really wondering about is Camassia quamash and Camassia lechtlinii. I can't remember where all I planted them, and I'm not sure if that's some of what's coming up too or not.

I'm pretty sure one of two Fritillaria biflora is coming up, and that a racoon or possum dug up and ate the other one. I've had a lot of bulb-eating wildlife this winter. Sigh.

The idea of anything coming up in my garden is so impossible right now, I can only live vicariously through your garden. However, next week when I'm in Mexico...
